Robocall trends in July 2025

Here’s a quick review of robocall trends through July 2025.

The source data is from YouMail’s Robocall Index, a widely followed measure of robocall activity in the U.S.

Overall robocalls down in July

Figure 1 shows that overall robocalls were down 3.1% in July from the previous month. The red baseline shows that robocalls in July were the lowest monthly total in 2025.

The dashed green line shows that the robocall trend over the past six months is slightly downward, reversing the upward trend from March and April.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 1 compares robocalls in each month with the same month in the previous year. Robocalls in July 2025 were up 0.7% from July 2024. The year-over-year robocall increase in 2025 has been dropping since April.

Scam robocalls up sharply in July

Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls were up 73.0% from the previous month, from 624 million to over a billion. The red baseline shows that scam robocalls in July were far greater than in any other month in recent history. We haven’t seen scam robocalls that high since August 2022.

The dashed green line shows that scam robocalls are now on a strong upward trend over the past six months.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls in July 2025 were up 110% from July 2024.
