Here’s a quick review of robocall trends through January 2026.

The source data is from YouMail’s Robocall Index, a widely followed measure of robocall activity in the U.S.

Figure 1 shows that overall robocalls were down 5.6% in January from the previous month. The red baseline shows that robocalls in January were the lowest monthly total in the past six months.

The dashed green line shows that the robocall trend over the past six months is downward.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 1 compares robocalls in each month with the same month in the previous year. Robocalls in January 2026 were down 18.1% from January 2025.

Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls were down 1.4% from the previous month.

The dashed green line shows that scam robocalls have been on a strong upward trend over the past six months as a result of the sharp increases in July and August.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls in January 2026 were up 64% from January 2025.

Figure 3 shows scam robocalls as a percentage of overall robocalls. This percentage jumped in July and has remained at this level since then.
