Robocall trends in April 2025

Here’s a quick review of robocall trends through April 2025.

The source data is from YouMail’s Robocall Index, a widely followed measure of robocall activity in the U.S.

Overall robocalls down in April

Figure 1 shows that overall robocalls were up 3.0% in April from the previous month, reaching almost 5 billion.

The dashed green line shows that robocalls have been on an upward trend over the past six months, reversing the downward trend in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 1 compares robocalls in each month with the same month in the previous year. Robocalls in April 2025 were up 12% from April 2024. Over the past six months, robocalls were up from the same month in the previous year.

Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls were down 4.3% from the previous month, to about 644 million.

The dashed green line shows that scam robocalls have been on a strong upward trend over the past six months.

The bar chart at the bottom of Figure 2 shows that scam robocalls in April 2025 were down 9% from April 2024.
