FCC removes over 1,200 more deficient RMDs
The FCC removed the certifications of over 1,200 non-compliant companies from the Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD). This represents a significant portion of the certifications that were on file. All other providers must stop accepting calls directly from these companies.
The order was released on August 25, 2025. All intermediate and voice service providers must cease accepting traffic directly from the non-compliant companies within two business days of the order release date, i.e., August 27, 2025.
The Commission removed 185 deficient certifications from the RMD on August 6. By our count, the total number of RMD certifications removed on August 6 and August 25 represented about 13.7% of the certifications on file before the first removal on August 6.
The removal order explained that these certifications were deficient because they did not contain the additional information required to be submitted by February 24, 2024. The FCC Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) notified these companies on March 29, 2024, to tell them that their RMD filings were deficient. As of August 22, 2025, almost 17 months later, these RMD certification filings were still deficient.
As with the previous order, this one stipulates that the companies shall not refile a certification in the RMD without the consent of the WCB and FCC.
