Gateway provider RMD filing rule effective dates set

More effective dates have been set for gateway provider robocall rules. These compliance dates are related to new requirements for filing certifications in the Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD). Some rules also apply to downstream providers. Let’s have a look.

Jan 11, 2023	Gateway providers must file a certification in the RMD
Apr 11, 2023	Intermediate and voice service providers shall accept traffic with U.S. NANP calling numbers from foreign providers only if that foreign provider’s filing appears in the RMD and has not been de-listed pursuant to an enforcement action.
Apr 11, 2023	Intermediate and voice service providers shall accept traffic with U.S. NANP calling numbers from gateway providers only if that gateway provider’s filing appears in the RMD and has not been de-listed pursuant to an enforcement action.

The Office of Budget and Management (OMB) approved the information collection requirements of these rules. Their approval enabled these compliance dates to be set and announced.
