FCC and FTC robocall expo and forum

Today the Federal Communications Commission and Federal Trade Commission announced two upcoming events to address the illegal robocall problem:

  • Policy forum on March 23 to discuss regulatory challenges, presented on a live video feed.
  • Consumer expo at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in Washington, D.C. on April 23 to present technologies, devices and applications to minimize or eliminate illegal robocalls.

These are welcome signs of a determined effort to address the problem.

TransNexus offers software that can reduce robocalls. Our SIP Analytics software, available in the cloud on ClearIP or on-premises with NexOSS, can detect high calls rates that set robocall triggers. These products are also ready-to-go with Secure Telephone Identity capabilities described in the STIR/SHAKEN framework to prevent caller ID spoofing, a tactic used by robocallers to trick people into answering their calls.
