Out-of-Band SHAKEN and Rich Call Data at SIPNOC 2020

ATLANTA, Georgia, November 11, 2020 — TransNexus today announced that Alec Fenichel will present a session on STIR/SHAKEN at the SIPNOC 2020 Webinar Series. This one-hour presentation, Real World Benefits of Rich Call Data and Out-of-Band SHAKEN, will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. EST.

In this session, Alec Fenichel, Senior Software Architect at TransNexus, will demonstrate a live production call with Rich Call Data using Out-of-Band SHAKEN. Mr. Fenichel will also review the latest developments on standards for Rich Call Data and Out-of-Band SHAKEN.

Out-of-Band SHAKEN
There are real-world issues that prevent successful transmission of SHAKEN PASSporTs across today’s telephone network, even for service providers that have deployed IP networks. These issues threaten to limit the effectiveness of STIR/SHAKEN call authentication.
Out-of-Band SHAKEN resolves these issues. It gives service providers the option to send SHAKEN PASSporTs separately, out-of-band, across the internet and make them available to terminating service providers for successful call verification. All other aspects of STIR/SHAKEN remain the same, per the standards.
Rich Call Data
Rich Call Data is additional information about the caller sent in the SHAKEN PASSporT. The information is presented to called parties, encouraging them to answer the calls.
Rich Call Data will be a game changer for enterprises, enabling them to present their calls with secure, accurate, branded information to encourage people to answer their calls.
