ATIS Robocalling Testbed adds features

ATIS announced support for additional features in the ATIS Robocalling Testbed. Let’s have a look.

The ATIS Robocalling Testbed enables communications service providers, equipment manufacturers and software suppliers to remotely test their STIR/SHAKEN-related applications. This testing is intended to ensure interoperability between applications developed by different entities.

Additional features

Here are the features added to the ATIS Robocalling Testbed:

Delegate certificates enable a non-SHAKEN participant, called a VoIP Entity, to send digitally signed information that a SHAKEN Originating Service Provider (OSP) may use while authenticating a call for STIR/SHAKEN.

Out-of-Band SHAKEN enables call authentication information PASSporTs to be preserved by relaying them around non-IP barriers along the call path.

Rich Call Data (RCD) enables VoIP Entities and OSPs to provide additional information about the caller and call. RCD is digitally signed as part of the SHAKEN trust network using either delegate or SHAKEN certificates.

SIP 603+ is an extension of the standard SIP 603 Decline message. SIP 603+ is used for Network Blocked replies for calls blocked by analytics. SIP 603+ includes a reason header with information about where the call was blocked and contact information that the caller can use for redress.
