NexOSS 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year
TransNexus announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named NexOSS 6 as a recipient of a 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award.
NexOSS 6 is a suite of integrated back office applications that supports VoIP Least Cost Routing (LCR), Reporting, Telecom Fraud Detection, and VoIP Peering. NexOSS is the only solution on the market that seamlessly integrates LCR and telecom fraud detection.
Though telecom fraud detection solutions have been on the market for many years, they rely on analyzing Call Detail Records (CDRs). This is an effective strategy for finding subscriber fraud, but because they must wait until a call is completed, these solutions don’t catch fraud events until after they have begun costing the company money.
NexOSS 6 from TransNexus detects fraud in real time by analyzing number portability-corrected LCR routing requests. This means that NexOSS can detect and re-route or block fraudulent calls before they are connected. The new fraud detection feature enables targeted call blocking without impacting legitimate calls, and provides visibility into how and when fraud attempts occur.
TransNexus customers using NexOSS 6 fraud detection have reported significant cost savings resulting from decreased fraud activity. According to Bill Doran, Director, ISP and Access Services at Finger Lakes Technology Group, “We have found that our NexOSS has detected and automatically blocked many fraud attempts, saving us many thousands of dollars.”
The NexOSS platform’s VoIP peering function allows direct IP-to-IP connections. By eliminating the need for many of the middleman functions, VoIP peering will dramatically change the role of wholesale service providers in the interconnection process, as well as the role of retail service providers for enterprises. VoIP peering provides the vehicle to expand advanced services and features beyond the service provider networks.
NexOSS 6 now supports the BroadWorks Open Client Interface—Provisioning (OCI -P) Applications Program Interface (API ). This enables NexOSS to automatically block calls, or change the calling plan, for any user, group or service provider configured in BroadWorks. NexOSS can use either RADIUS accounting records reported by BroadWorks or CDR files.
“It gives me great pleasure to recognize TransNexus with a 2014 Product of the Year Award for its commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “In the opinion of our distinguished judges, NexOSS 6 has proven to be among the best communications and technology solutions on the market in 2014. I look forward to continued innovation from TransNexus.”
